Rappahannock Community College invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President of Instruction and Student Success. Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Instruction and Student Success is the chief academic officer, the chief workforce officer, and is also responsible for student development. A key member of the President’s executive team, the Vice President will lead the development and implementation of data-informed strategies to improve college access, admissions, and enrollment processes, and increase student retention, progression, completion, and post-college employment. In their role, the Vice President of Instruction and Student Success will work collaboratively with deans, program directors, and faculty and staff across two main campus locations—Glenns and Warsaw.

 

The Vice President of Instruction and Student Success must have a strong commitment to the collaborative mission of RCC, as well as the demonstrated ability to build relationships among individuals and groups internally and externally. A highly visible, collaborative, personable, and student-centered leader focused on the specific needs of the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula region of Virginia, the Vice President of Instruction and Student Success must have excellent communication skills, have the ability to innovate and see the “big picture,” and be a thought partner committed to academic excellence and student success. The successful candidate will have an earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution and have significant teaching and administrative experience at the dean's level or above, preferably in a community college setting. Having the desire to live in close proximity to the college community is also preferred.

 

The Vice President of Instruction and Student Success has eight direct reports that include the Associate Vice President of Instruction, Director of Professional and Technical Programs, Director of TRIO programs, Dean of Student Development, Coordinator for the Office of Career Transition Services, Title III Project Director, an Instructional Support Developer, and Instructional Support Technologist.

 

Rappahannock Community College offers a generous benefits package including health and life insurance, long and short-term disability eligibility, retirement, and more. The salary range for this role is $130,000-$150,000.
