Position Overview: The Manager, Strategy & Planning at the College of the Holy Cross will serve as the day-to-day partner and primary point of contact for various departments across campus, including enrollment, internal communications, athletics, and the arts, with a particular focus on serving as a strategic partner to the advancement team. This role is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of segment-specific marketing plans. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of advancement best practices and will play a key role in driving the college’s overall marketing strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Partner Engagement:
    • Serve as the primary marketing contact for campus departments, including enrollment, internal communications, athletics, and others.
    • Build strong, collaborative relationships with department stakeholders to understand their unique marketing needs and goals.
    • Act as a liaison between these departments and the marketing team, ensuring effective communication and alignment of marketing strategies.
  2. Advancement Communications:
    • Partner with the advancement team to leverage marketing and communication tactics to achieve stated goals, while advancing brand affinity.
    • Develop a deep knowledge of advancement best practices and apply this understanding to create impactful marketing strategies.
    • Collaborate on the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, alumni engagement initiatives, and other advancement-related projects.
  3. Marketing Strategy Development:
    • Assist in developing segment-specific marketing plans tailored to the needs of each department.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities for growth.
    • Ensure marketing plans align with the overall strategic goals of the college and contribute to enhancing its brand.
  4. Campaign Execution:
    • Coordinate the execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, social media, and events.
    • Coordinate with internal and external resources to produce high-quality marketing materials.
    • Monitor campaign performance and provide regular reports on key metrics, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.
  5. Content Creation and Management:
    • Collaborate with content creators to develop engaging and effective marketing content.
    • Ensure all marketing materials adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent message.
    • Manage the approval process for marketing materials, ensuring timely delivery and publication.
  6. Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement improvements in marketing processes and workflows to increase efficiency.
    • Leverage project management tools (e.g., ASANA) to track progress and ensure the timely completion of projects.
    • Stay up-to-date with marketing trends and best practices, incorporating new ideas and technologies into the college’s marketing strategies.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on strategy development and execution.
  • Experience in higher education, particularly in advancement or fundraising, is highly preferred.
  • Strong project management skills and proficiency in using project management and marketing automation tools (e.g., ASANA, Hubspot).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Information:

This is a full time, exempt level position. The College is committed to providing competitive market pay for its employees. The annual salary range for this position is from $77,400 - $82,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. The College also offers a competitive benefits package for full-time staff, including:
  • 10% College contribution to the 403(b) Retirement Plan (1 year wait waiver available)
