Temporary Career Advisor - Private Sector, Center for Co-op and Career Development, Northeastern University School of Law
About the Opportunity
The Center for Co-op and Career Development oversees all aspects of career planning for the law school's JD, FlexJD, and LLM student populations. This includes responsibility for year-round co-op placements, continuous employer outreach and engagement, professional development programming, law firm Summer Associate recruitment, and postgraduate placement. We are seeking a temporary Career Advisor to focus on advising students and graduates interested in the private sector (law firms and companies) as we seek to hire a permanent Assistant Director, Private Sector.
Under the supervision of the Director, Private Sector, this role will focus on student advising which will encompass: 1) helping students secure co-ops in the private sector, 2) supporting our recent JD graduates seeking postgraduate employment in the private sector, and 3) supporting students through the tail end of the Summer Associate recruitment process.
This short-term role may be part-time or full-time depending on the candidate. Please submit a Resume, Cover Letter, and References for consideration.
Required Qualifications:
JD and legal experience in the private sector
Preferred Qualifications:
Three+ years of legal experience in the private sector. Demonstrated interest in mentoring law students. Prior experience in career counseling is preferred but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Dedication to teamwork and collaboration. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
