Business Manager, Mendel Center

Job Summary:
Manages the daily physical operations and transactional details of Mendel Center spaces and equipment, including facility appearance and functionality, on-site event management, contract compliance, client management, and oversight of technical and other support services. Serves as primary liaison with Finance department to reconcile accounts. Ensures an exceptional customer service experience and overall safety of performers, clients, patrons, students, faculty, staff, and all other guests. Responsible for developing and executing event rentals sales strategy to clients, event planners, and promoters. Manages the execution of events as required.
Essential Functions:
1. Executes Mendel Center client relations and event planning communication regarding financial transactions and documentation, including collecting customer sales tax exemption information, W-9 forms, insurance documentation, sending estimates, surveys, or follow-up on other required information.2. Maintains records regarding contracts, deposits, and payments associated with events. Monitors and collects accounts receivable and handles dispute resolution on outstanding accounts. Works with Finance Department to resolve accounting questions and issues. Assists with event settlement reports.3. Develops, monitors and oversees the management of the two operation’s budgets: Mendel Mainstage (4710) and
Econ Club (4711).4. Ensues accounting oversight, controls, and financial reconciliation for all Mendel operations, including bar service.5. Responsible for Mendel Center liquor license enforcement, ensuring all events follow required rules and regulations.6. Runs weekly Mendel Center Operations meeting, including acting as primary liaison between LMC scheduling (CourseDog) for the Mendel Center.7. Oversees the development and implementation of all professional programming in the Mendel Center including Jenkins performances, LMC Speakers Series, community events, and other activities.8. Processes invoices, vendor payables, purchase requisitions and related documentation.9. Manages Square on-line payment system for concessions, merchandise, bar, and auxiliary ticket sales.10. Plans, coordinates, reviews, and executes box office and online ticket operations, including event management in Spektrix electronic ticketing system.11. Oversees non-academic, specialized areas within the Mendel Center (kitchen, laundry room, storage areas, etc.).12. Works closely with the Vice President, Enrollment and Community Partnerships to assist with membership cultivation, fundraising development, group sales management, and other responsibilities as needed.13. Represents the Mendel Center on LMC committees, including MLK, Operations, Facilities, Graduation, CourseDog.14. Participates in proofreading of marketing and event materials.

Accountabilities:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for meeting financial and operational targets and ensuring that students, faculty, clients, and patrons have an exceptional Mendel Center experience.
Job Specifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Three or more years of experience in a coordination role with financial responsibilities in a performing arts center or corporate environment. Exceptionally strong skills in customer service, preferably with event client services and sales. Strong attention to detail, exceptional interpersonal skills, and good written, verbal, quantitative, and organizational skills. Must have a track record of being a team player. Must be proficient in computer applications, including intermediate to advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Flexible daily and weekly schedule; must be available for some evening, weekend, and holiday work.
Grade:
Salary Range: $45,231 - $51,879
