The Role and the Department
CIS is a friendly, but demanding department, where much is expected and can be achieved by competent, self-motivated individuals who are demonstrable in their team work ability. The department works in a hybrid capacity depending on the job role and individual personal requirements.
The role sits within a team that delivers effective Identity and Access Management (IAM) services to the University and is part of the wider IS collection of teams, which underpins the delivery of customer focused information systems and services. It offers a rare opportunity for the post-holder to develop a career within the highly specialised identity and access management field.
Information Services (IS) is responsible for the provision of a wide range of end-user and customer facing technology services, ranging from: enterprise level applications; student record management systems; web, internet and intranet technologies; data and analytical services; integration services; collaborative services; identity and access management; artificial intelligence solutions, and; other immersive technologies.
CIS is committed to developing our talent and where appropriate, there will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop further by being sponsored to undertake an L4(HNC/FdDeg), L5/6 (HND/BSc) or L7(MSc) qualification, in a specific topic area such as: Cyber Security, DevOps, Data Analyst, Software Engineering, UX, AI, etc.

Your application should cover the following criteria:
Essential Criteria
Qualifications/Experience/Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
1. Five GCSE’s at least Grade C or level four including English Language and Mathematics.
2. Post-16 qualification or equivalent experience.
3. Demonstrable ability to provide advice and guidance to a range of customers and colleagues.
4. Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining IAM policies, standards, and procedures
5. Experience of using Oracle or SQL Server relational databases and database programming using PL/SQL or TSQL.
6. Knowledge of IAM tools ( AD, AAD, MIM etc.)
7. Good spoken and written communication skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships, both internally and externally.
8. Relevant industry and professional recognition and certification of achievement of skills and knowledge.
9. Ability to solve problems and resolve issues, plan solutions and make pragmatic decisions.
10. Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively, working under own initiative or collaboratively in a small team within a pressurised environment
Desirable Criteria
11. Knowledge and experience of health and safety issues.
12. Proven experience in Linux scripting and/or automation.*
13. Knowledge and experience of supporting identity and access related technology solutions*
14. Experience of working in Agile environment
15. Experience of working with Identity and Access Management in the Higher Education sector.

Service Delivery
