Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Manager of Corrections Education and Operations. The Manager of Corrections Education and Operations is located in the Academic and Workforce and Development Division. This is a full-time position.

Executive Director for Adult and Corrections Education

COMPENSATION:

Job Concepts

The Manager of Corrections Education and Operations is a key role responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic initiatives of the Corrections Education program. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Adult and Corrections Education, this role ensures the effective delivery of educational services within correctional facilities. The Manager will support the Executive Director in program planning, implementation, and evaluation, while fostering collaboration with correctional institutions, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of corrections education, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex operational tasks. The role is also responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Adult and Corrections Education. The role supports the Executive Director with program compliance, budget management, and staff coordination, while supporting the mission to provide high-quality education to diverse adult learners, including those in correctional facilities. This position requires excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

40% Leadership & Strategic Management
  • Support the Executive Director with the development and implementation of the Corrections Education program, ensuring it aligns with the goals and mission of the institution and meets the needs of incarcerated learners.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to set strategic goals for the Corrections Education program, including expanding program offerings and enhancing educational outcomes.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of faculty and staff involved in the delivery of corrections education, ensuring they are adequately prepared to work within correctional facilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the Office of Corrections Education and correctional facility administrators, managing relationships and addressing any program-related concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations governing corrections education, developing and implementing policies and procedures as needed.
  • Monitor program performance through data collection and analysis, providing regular reports to the Executive Director and other stakeholders on student outcomes, program effectiveness, and areas for improvement.
30% Operations & Program Coordination
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Corrections Education program, including class scheduling, resource allocation, and logistical coordination with correctional facilities.
  • Oversee budget management for the Corrections Education program, including tracking expenditures, processing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with grant and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with correctional facility personnel to ensure the smooth delivery of educational services, resolving any operational challenges that arise.
  • Manage the Office of Adult and Corrections Education’s daily operations, including administrative support, staff coordination, and office management tasks.
  • Ensure that all educational materials and resources are available and accessible to students within correctional facilities, coordinating with faculty and correctional staff to address any issues.
25% Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including correctional institutions, community organizations, government agencies, and educational partners.
  • Coordinate with marketing and outreach teams to promote the Corrections Education program and its impact on incarcerated individuals.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on program activities, outcomes, and operational performance to the Executive Director and other key stakeholders.
  • Represent the Corrections Education program at meetings, conferences, and events, advocating for the program’s mission and securing support and resources.
