Pay Range

The compensation for this appointment will range from $21.00 to $26.00 hourly and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.

Position Summary Information

Summary

Provides administrative and facilitative support for the operations and technical function and safety of daily simulation-based learning activities under the direction of the Director of Simulation and Standardized Patient Program within the College of Nursing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Collaborates in the development of simulation-based instructional and training components for faculty,students, and standardized patients.
2. Assists with the development and validation of simulation scenarios.
3. Assists in maintaining and evaluating data collection related to simulation activities.
4. Prepares the simulation equipment and other learning technologies to support learning activities.
5. Operates computer hardware and audio-video recording systems.
6. Manages the maintenance of simulation technology and equipment.
7. Provides training and orientation of new simulation technicians.
8. Organizes reference materials for simulation procedures and equipment.
9. Assists with annual simulation program quality improvement plan.
10. Maintains simulation equipment and departmental records.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assigning work and/or giving
direction to office staff and student workers, in order to complete work assignments.

• Simulation Technician Certification and/or education preferred.
• Ability to obtain Simulation Technician Certification within 2 years of hiring.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers; and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Certified Simulation Operational Specialist ( CSOS ) is preferred, and certification is required within 2 years of hire.
