Description

The Clemson University Innovation Campus located in Charleston, SC is looking for a Research Assistant Professor to focus on power systems and grid resilience. The ideal candidate will be familiar with large-scale power system simulation testbeds and have an understanding of the modeling of extreme weather on bulk power systems and quantifying grid resilience.

The role will:

- Leverage power systems domain knowledge for the conception, design, development, and application of open-source software tools to demonstrate concepts and perform analysis.

- Conduct cutting-edge research on applying machine learning techniques in power system dynamics and control.

- Work on complex optimization problems within power systems (e.g., bulk power system capacity expansion, production cost modeling)

- Write scientific papers and assists in the development of proposals for technical projects.

- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance research and development in power systems.



Qualifications

Ph.D in Electrical Engineering and experience conducting research on large-scale power systems.
