Job Summary:
The Data and Technical Operations Specialist is a member of the Office of Admissions and is principally responsible for providing infrastructure support including database management, reporting, records management, and online and technical solutions which help to minimize risk and maximize performance. The Assistant Director collaborates with personnel from various University departments (including Library & Information Technology, Financial Aid, and the Registrar's Office), and provides exemplary customer service to Admissions prospective students and their families. The Data and Technical Operations Specialist reports to the Associate Director of Data & Technical Operations.
This is a full-time (35 hour) staff non-exempt (hourly) position based in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Some evening and weekend work will be required, so the Assistant Director must be committed to working flexible hours to meet office needs.
Job Duties:
1. Assist with technology implementation projects and problem solving including but not limited to assisting with the management and coordination of Slate and its features; maintaining up to date and accurate records; resolving data issues, including resolving duplicate records. Assist with the database's systems for communications, such as mass email campaigns, texting or automated/scheduled messages for prospective students, parents, counselors, and other audiences.
2. Assist in the maintenance of a database of admissions events, including clean-up and event creation. Assist in the development and maintenance of the various technology solutions, including the institutional database and its integration with Financial Aid, the Office of the Registrar, and other University departments.
3. Assist Office of Admissions team members with the use, knowledge, and implementation of various technology solutions, including Banner, Cognos, and Slate. Help maintain automated processes in Slate and ensure all functions are working as required. Troubleshoot minor computer issues and serve as assistant liaison with L&IT to resolve these issues.
4. Assist applicants by troubleshooting application checklist issues. Create digital forms for use by prospective students and admissions staff. Import documents and other materials into the database system from external sources. Assist with the maintenance of user permissions for database system access.
5. Maintain a section of the prospect, inquiry and applicant records (referred to as alphabet segment) including: entering appropriate application data into database, requesting missing credentials, responding to phone and/or email related to applications, reporting to supervisor with application process questions or feedback to ensure consistent procedures, processing withdraw notifications pertaining to applications and assuming additional application processing tasks as needed by the Admissions Operations Supervisor.
6. Assume other duties as requested by the supervisor or Associate Vice President & Dean of Admissions.

Physical Requirements: The ability to lift boxes weighing up to 30lbs. is required.
We are looking for someone with:
- An Associate's degree in a pertinent field (such as
mathematics, finance/accounting or a technology/data-centered field
like computer science) OR 2 years of tech related experience in
lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in
an organized and efficient manner in an environment that requires
one to be able to work effectively both independently and as a team
member.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, work with
sensitive issues, and exercise good judgment under
pressure.
- Attention to detail.
- Reporting skills and experience.
- Data detective and troubleshooting capabilities.
And who also has (preferred):
- Bachelors degree in a pertinent field, such as mathematics,
finance/accounting, or a technology/data-centered field (like
computer science or data analytics).
- Familiarity with constituent/customer relationship management
(CRM) systems (i.e. Technolutions Slate), document imaging systems
(i.e. Ascend), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (i.e.
Banner, Workday), and Google and Microsoft Office Suite
applications (including email, spreadsheets, mail merge,
etc.).

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
