General Statement of Duties
Fitchburg State University’s Department of Business Administration is seeking a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Management. The candidate will teach introductory and upper-level Business courses, with an ability to incorporate technologies and software as appropriate. The successful candidate should bring teaching experience and a fresh pedagogical perspective while providing students with a solid foundation in management and or marketing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching workload (24 semester hours of credit of instruction per school year), and preparation for classroom instruction.
- Teach undergraduate introduction and upper-level management, marketing courses.
- Provide student assistance including academic advising.
- Participate in curriculum review and development, program reviews and student outcomes assessment and departmental and college-wide committees.
- Attend university functions, including commencement, convocation, and faculty, committee and department meetings.
- Participate in scheduled orientation and registration programs.
- Opportunities to teach summer, winter term, online, and undergraduate and graduate evening courses
Requirements:
- Terminal degree in a Business Discipline – Marketing, Management, Accounting, Analytics, Entrepreneurship (DBA or PhD) completed by June 30, 2025.
- Preference to those with experience in AI or logistics.
- Teaching experience in related field is required.
- Ability to teach introductory and upper level in management and/or marketing courses. Ability to teach introductory level courses. At all levels must have an ability to incorporate theoretical knowledge and frameworks in new/emerging business practices as appropriate.
- Ability to integrate appropriate technology and software in teaching.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching, demonstrated teaching experience appropriate to the level of appointment.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a check conducted by the Criminal History Systems Board/Sexual Offender Registry Information (CORI/SORI) as well as a completed background check satisfactory to the university.
- Ability to perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Full-time, benefitted position. Position begins September 1, 2025
