Position: The Management Department in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University invites applications for two tenure track positions in Legal Studies at the assistant professor rank to begin as early as August 2025 (contingent upon available funds).
Candidates should demonstrate an interest in and a capacity for both conducting high-quality scholarly research and working with colleagues, as well as a high level of teaching competence. Assistant professors are given minimal service assignments and course preps as well as summer support to allow them to focus on their research programs. Salary and teaching loads are commensurate with an R1 comprehensive research university. Our preference is to hire research-active faculty members. We are especially interested in candidates who study corporate governance, employment law, intellectual property, gaming, or ethics. Candidates with other research interests, however, will still be considered.
Qualifications: By Fall 2025, candidates must hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Membership in a state bar association, previous experience teaching law at the university level, a history of scholarly research and publications, past law review membership, a Ph.D. or LL.M., and/or an MBA from an accredited college or university are highly desirable. The successful candidate will be able to work in a collegial environment.
Application: Applicants need to upload a letter of interest, CV, and contact information for three references. Applications should be submitted by October 7, 2024, to ensure full review, though the position will remain open until filled. For inquiries regarding the application process, contact griffin.pivateau@okstate.edu.
Salary: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and academic qualifications. The appointment is a tenure-track position and the normal personnel process of the SSB and OSU applies.
