Job Details
Landmark College, located in beautiful southern Vermont, is a unique, accredited college for bright neurodivergent students with learning differences (LD; including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and executive function challenges). Landmark provides an intentionally designed, resource-rich academic and student life model within a private liberal arts college environment.
A position with Landmark College is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of promising college students and to help us change how the public thinks about education. We champion a strength-based model and give students the skills and strategies they need to achieve their goals. A fully accredited, not-for-profit institution, Landmark College offers bachelor’s and associate degrees in liberal studies, studio arts, psychology, business, life science and computer science.
Landmark College seeks a Temporary Admissions Recruiter to conduct off-campus recruitment (i.e. high school visits, college fairs, student/family meetings, and educational consultant appointments) from August-November 2024. Reporting to the Senior Director of Admissions and collaborating strongly with the internal Admissions and Financial Aid teams, the Admissions Associate plays a key role in achieving our enrollment goals. The Admissions Associate is 100% remote and would not have in-office responsibilities. Responsibilities include extensive travel planning and implementation of fall recruitment activities. Other duties will be assigned based on the candidate's background skills, and professional experience.
Landmark College is a unique, fully accredited college for neurodivergent students with learning differences (LD), including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and executive function challenges. Landmark provides an intentionally designed, resource-rich academic and student life model yet is also a traditional college.
The Enrollment Management division requires a high degree of teamwork and camaraderie in a rapid paced setting, empathy and care for high school students and their families, a sustainable level of energy and commitment, nuanced communication skills and creative problem-solving abilities. An ideal candidate possesses the emotional maturity to receive and provide constructive criticism, displays intellectual self-confidence and awareness for others, meets high level goals in a timely fashion, fosters a spirit of curiosity, and a belief in building community in and out of the office. A sense of humor and humility paired with grit, tenacity and grace are welcomed attributes as well.
Qualifications and Expectations: a bachelor’s degree and a valid driver's license are required. Candidates are expected to have experience in admissions, ideally at a college or university, a working understanding of databases and systems, a commitment to a diverse and inclusive community, and an ability to compellingly articulate the value of a Landmark College education to a wide range of constituents. An understanding of LD is highly desirable. Travel on behalf of the College and the ability to work weekends and after-hours are requirements. Strong communication and writing skills and demonstrated organizational abilities are expected. The successful candidate will be both willing and able to work as part of a successful admissions team yet will be capable of creative self-direction.

Diversifying the student body, faculty, and administration is congruent with our mission. We value diverse populations and cultures including, but not limited to, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, national origin, neurodiversity, race, and religion. Landmark College is an EO/AA/Vet/Disability employer.
Company
While many colleges offer special programs for students with learning disabilities (LD) and other learning challenges, Landmark College is one of the only accredited colleges in the United States designed exclusively for students who learn differently, including students with learning disabilities (such as dyslexia), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and autism.
Landmark College’s mission is to transform the way students learn, educators teach, and the public thinks about education. We provide highly accessible approaches to learning that empower individuals who learn differently to exceed their aspirations and to achieve their greatest potential. Through the Landmark College Institute for Research and Training, the College aims to extend its mission across the nation and throughout the world.
Students at Landmark College get far more personal, directed assistance than at traditional colleges that often offer a grab bag of accommodations for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, or autism. Students at Landmark College receive individualized attention from classroom instructors—in courses tailored to meet their educational needs. This is evidenced by our exceptionally low student/faculty ratio of 6:1. Our experienced advisors meet frequently with students to review and guide their progress. In addition to advising, a wide array of other academic support is integral to a Landmark College education, including executive function coaching, educational technology support, and the services of our centers for academic support. All instructors are trained professional educators, not teaching assistants or peer tutors.
Landmark College is located in Putney, Vermont, in the southeastern part of the state. The campus is two and a half hours from Boston and four hours from New York. Southern Vermont also has a great deal to offer. Within half an hour of campus, faculty, staff and students can find amenities more often associated with an urban environment, including movie theaters, shops, restaurants, live music, art, and theater. Members of the campus community who love the outdoors will find world-class skiing, snowboarding, hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking just minutes from campus.
Our Office of Human Resources strives to ensure that we are an employer of choice, attracting and retaining uniquely talented individuals able to advance the College’s position as the college of choice for students who learn differently. We are committed to a philosophy that recognizes each person as an individual, worthy of respect, trust, dignity and fair treatment, and we apply these tenets to serve, support, and value all members of our community.
