Description
The Johns Hopkins University School of Education invites applications for a Lecturer in the Counseling and Educational Studies Department, beginning August 2024 for a one-year appointment. The SOE offers two counseling tracks, School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The School of Education ranks #15 among the nation’s finest graduate education programs according to the latest ranking from U.S. News and World Report.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
· Teach eight (8) courses per year.
· Teach both on the School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health courses.
· Supervise and advise students.
· Provide service in the program.
· Maintain active membership and involvement with an appropriate counseling professional organization (i.e., ACA, MCA, ACES, ASCA, etc.).
· Participate in program development and accreditation activities, including the ongoing assessment of the program, curriculum, and student learning.
· Participate in professional service at the school, university, state, regional, and national levels.
The candidate may be required to teach in both a traditional and distance learning format.
Qualifications
· A doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited program.
· Completion of all doctoral requirements prior to employment.
· Either eligibility as a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) or school counseling certification.
· Ability to successfully teach in a diverse urban setting with a large international population.
· Knowledge of the CACREP standards and process.

Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
