Central Connecticut State University invites applications for a full-time Administrative Faculty Trainee I position within the Center for Africana Studies . We seek applicants dedicated to promoting diversity, fostering an inclusive environment, and engaging with students, Administrative Faculty and Faculty with professionalism and enthusiasm. This is a training/entry level position whose incumbents participate in a formal development program designed to provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to qualify for appointment for a designated Administrative Faculty Program Associate assigned to a higher administrative rank. Position Profile

The Administrative Faculty Trainee will support the Center for Africana Studies academic and cultural mission by understanding the interdisciplinary nature of the center – African Studies, African American Studies, the Archaeology Laboratory of African and African Diaspora Studies (ALAADS) and International (Global) Studies. The successful incumbent will promote inclusivity and social progress, coordinate all center collaborative projects and support domestic and International experiential learning opportunities developed by the center. The successful incumbent will also be assisting in special projects/programs as required.

The ideal candidate will be expected to have the ability to communicate effectively orally and written. They will also be expected to have demonstrated ability to research, compile and analyze data and information.

Weekend and evening work is occasionally required.

Education:



Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Global Relations, Public Relations, Psychology, Management or a closely related field.

Ideal Candidate

Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

Experience researching and analyzing data

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Familiarity with organizational tools and techniques

Compensation and Employee Benefits



The Administrative Faculty Trainee I position is compensated at the Administrator I salary level in accordance with the State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF) Collective Bargaining Union Agreement.
