Under the direct supervision of the Director of Compliance, Ethics and Policy, the Compliance and Policy Analyst assists in carrying out responsibilities and duties to reinforce the campus’ dedication to ethics and compliance. This position will be instrumental in developing, facilitating and coordinating policies for the campus and assisting departments, units and the campus community with inquiries regarding policies and compliance questions.

The Office of Compliance, Ethics and Policy provides leadership and university-wide collaboration that strengthens accountability, proactively and harmoniously manages significant risks, upholds a safe and healthy campus environment, and promotes and assists in compliance with federal and state law.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Program Development
- Assists in the development, review, revision and formulation of written policies, procedures and guidelines designed to address management and administrative processes and compliance issues, by working with campus offices. In addition, review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, university and campus policies.
- Assists in developing and delivering compliance and ethics presentations and communications. Assists in developing communication plans to support changes and updates to policies and procedures, including developing companion tools, training tools and programs.
- Communicate policies, procedures, and potential risks in an easily digestible manner.
- Assists in coordinating and facilitating system and campus compliance committees.
- Assists with updating the campus Ethics and Compliance plan on an annual basis.
- Manages and coordinates website design and updates including campus policy website.
- Maintains and serves as the administrator for the campus policy management system (SAI360). Assists and trains campus partners on how to use the system.
Training
- Develops and implements training for campus employees to create awareness and foster understanding of policies and procedures for ethics and compliance.
- Manage and coordinate the Campus Compliance Community of Practice to include relevant and latest ethics and compliance topics.
Data Analysis and Management
- Prepares reports by coordinating, collecting, analyzing, and summarizing compliance information.
- Makes recommendations and action plans based on root-cause analysis of compliance-related issues and findings.
- Assists with periodic assessments of compliance activities across campus.
- Performs benchmarking/standard processes research for ethics and compliance initiatives.
Professional Development
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking innovative practices; and participating in professional societies.
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the University as well as evolving standard methodologies in compliance and risk management.
- In the Director’s absence, responds to compliance, ethics and policy inquiries.
- Actively participate in various committees and meetings with a "University first" approach.
- Stay abreast of federal, state, and local requirements and national practices promoting a culture of compliance and ethical operations for the campus.

- The annual hiring range for this position is $65,000-$75,000.

What We Require
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, compliance, policy administration, or a closely related field.
- 1+ years of relevant professional experience.
- A combination of education and experience may substitute.

- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for success in this role.
- Demonstrated strength in time management required; ability to respond to urgent requests, prioritize appropriately, manage multiple projects and priorities at one time and meet timelines.
- Able to function in a team environment, being flexible and responsive to changing priorities in a timely manner.
- Ability to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
- Proficiency in data analysis, development, and maintenance of databases
- Excellent analytic, written and verbal skills and the ability to clearly and concisely present complex information to a diverse spectrum of individuals.
- Ability to create and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships and to foster accountability; works independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated dedication to advancing equity and assessing areas where inequities could lie through impact reviews.
- Attention to detail in the preparation of investigation reports, draft statements, evidence review summaries, email communications and any other outward-facing document or communication.
- Ability to extract, verify, compile and develop recommendations related to ethics and compliance programs, issues, policies and procedures.
- Can apply appropriate policies and practices in the completion of ethics and compliance assignments.
What We Would Like You to Have
- Masters Degree in Law, Business, Higher Education, Policy.
- Two years of experience working in a higher education compliance setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of higher education compliance.
- Experience working with underrepresented populations and non-affiliated members of the community to support the development of inclusive policies and an equity review of policies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the ethics and compliance profession, theories and systems of internal control, and professional compliance and investigations standards.
- Continuous acquisition of training and skills to maintain such advanced knowledge.
- Broad and thorough knowledge of and/or ability to quickly learn university ethics and compliance policies, procedures and programs as well as awareness and application of developing legal case law and legislation as consistent with system-wide direction.
