Job Description:
Summary:
The Student Technical Project Manager reports directly to the University Registrar and Associate Registrar for Student Services and Information Systems. The position works closely with the Registrar, and leadership team to support operations and maintenance of the Information Services, Reporting, and Student Systems teams within the OUR. The position works collaboratively with the Registrar, Associate Registrar for Information Services & Student Systems, and the Assistant Registrars for Information Systems & Analytics and Student Systems to improve academic processes and reporting through the consistent, strategic, and intentional use of technology. The position requires the highest level of discretion in handling sensitive data and confidential records. Hiring offers for this position are contingent on successful completion of a background check. This position is eligible for American University’s hybrid work modality.
Essential Functions:

- Assists the Registrar & Associate Registrar, Information
Services & Student Systems in planning, directing, managing,
and executing daily operations and future initiatives of the
organizational unit. This position provides technical and
analytical support to the OUR with emphasis on data integrity, best
practices, process streamlining, training and documentation.
- Applies strong leadership and management skills to assist in
managing projects, setting priorities and optimizing operational
processes.
- Supports data auditing and cleanup initiatives and assists in
configuring SIS.
- Creates and updates documentation, knowledge articles and
training materials.
- In collaboration with OIT and OUR leadership, assists with
Security Access requests, audits current access under the
custodianship of the OUR and assists in research needed to complete
the annual security access review.
- Works with the Registrar, & Associate Registrar,
Information Services & Student Systems to build the catalog of
data governance elements.
- Assists in the production and cataloging of reports to support
the student experience and administrative needs.

- $80,000 - $100,000 annually.
- Full-Time.
- 35 Hours per week.
- Support supervision of staff.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Proven record of successful experience in academic
administration or student-oriented service environment.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 2-4 years of experience in a university registrar management
position and membership in AACRAO.
- Strong working knowledge of university-wide ERP systems;
specific knowledge of Colleague.
- Solid team leadership skills.
- Master's degree.
- Experience working with Workday.
- 2+ years of experience in academic administration.
- Knowledge of student information system (Ellucian Colleague)
preferred.
- Familiarity with laws and regulations affecting academic
institutions (FERPA, ADA, HEA, etc.) preferred.
