Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor & Clinical Director, Physician Assistant Program will develop, maintain, and ensure adequacy and quality of clinical placement sites and will ensure that clinical sites meet the ARC-PA standards. In addition, the Director of Clinical Education will monitor and evaluate student clinical performance at the sites. The responsibilities of this position include assisting in the accreditation efforts for the physician assistant program, working with the Program Director and the surrounding health care community to develop and establish relationships for assurance of student placements at sites providing quality clinical education across the lifespan. Working with the clinical coordinator, the Clinical Director will lead the development of sites and implementation of a comprehensive plan for quality assurance. The incumbent has primary oversight for the supervised clinical practice experience component of the program. The development of student practice courses, guidelines for professional behavior, implementation of a database management system, site quality, student advising, and coordination of all related activities are the primary responsibility of the Director. This position, non-tenured and at the rank of clinical assistant or associate professor, serves as a direct report to the Program Director. The incumbent will receive academic rank as appropriate.
