OVERVIEW & HIGHLIGHTS


The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a qualified individual as a Vice Chancellor, Human Resources. The Incumbent serves as the District's key human resources expert and is responsible for the administration and management of a comprehensive human resources program to support the mission of the District and its colleges. The Vice Chancellor, Human Resources is responsible for organizational and staff development, benefits administration, classification, human resource information systems, recruitment and selection and equal employment compliance and serves as the chief negotiator for the District. The vice chancellor serves as a member of Chancellor's Cabinet and fosters a culture of collaboration, mutual respect, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the District.

    Salary: Chancellor's Cabinet Salary Schedule

    $18,972 - $25,965 Monthly

    $227,664 - $311,580 Annually

    Initial Salary Placement: Negotiable
    Doctoral Bonus: An employee with an earned doctorate from an accredited collegiate institution will receive a $2,000 annual doctoral stipend. Any additional earned doctorate will not be eligible for additional amounts.

    QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:A master's degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, business or related field, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and additional certification or licensure equivalent to a master's degree.
    Five years of management experience directing human resources functions in a public or private organization in employee relations and labor negotiations.

  • VETERAN'S POINTS:
    • Veterans not previously employed by the District, with 30 days or more of service who become eligible for appointment by attaining the passing mark established for the examination, shall be allowed an additional credit of five (5) points and disabled veterans shall be allowed an additional credit of ten (10) points, which shall be added to the percentages attained in the examinations by the veterans.
    • Any applicant who claims veteran's credit must submit Form DD 214 at the time the employment application is submitted. Failure to submit Form DD 214 at the time of application shall result in no veteran's credits being considered or added to any passing score.

    ASSESSMENT PROCESS :
    • The assessment process for this position may include any combination of the following:
      • An application screening for initial qualifications
      • Supplemental training and experience screening, documentation(s)/ certification(s) screening
      • Oral examination.

    • The District reserves the right to utilize a flexible pass point (cut-off) on any test part to meet the staffing needs as determined by the District.
    • If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (approximately 3 months) to test again for the same classification during a posted recruitment.
