About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Associate Director for Employer Relations, responsible for developing industry partnerships that result in growth, scale and opportunity for availability of co-op and experiential learning placements for all CPS students. Responsible for ensuring CPS co-op and experiential pathways delivers sufficient capacity of experiential opportunities to meet annual volume of need of eligible CPS learners and all academic programs at the college. Maintain and steward existing employer connections with a focus on continuous and expanded engagement. Recruit and foster new relationships while nurturing and maintain existing ones. Promote and initiate industry engagement and relationships specifically to fulfill the promise of experiential learning integral to and in support of CPS industry-aligned interests and needs to satisfy growth, scale, persistence, retention, graduation rates, and post-matriculation employment for CPS learners. Plays a key role in realizing the vision of CPS as a leader in experiential education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and skills required for this position are normally obtained through a Bachelor's degree and two to four years of experience, preferably experience with Salesforce and other key CRM systems and processes. Requires understanding of workforce needs, industry employment trend, recruitment strategies, technology platforms of industry-aligned classroom and experiential learning, and exposure to different, in-demand, industries. Requires ability to be outcomes-based, quantitative-minded, learner-centered, and literate about the needs and aspirations of professional studies and adult learners.

Must demonstrate:
  • Passion for networking and making new connections. High-level of customer-orientation
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, and comfort presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced understanding of workforce development trends, existing relationships with employers and workforce related entities, aligned with CPS's focus areas, is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences and maintain confidentiality around complex and sensitive issues for the purposes of compliance with applicable federal and state laws, as well as Northeastern guidelines.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of cooperative education and its impact on an individual's career development.

Demonstrated knowledge of employment networking and connectivity platforms (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesforce, Handshake, Simplicity, etc.)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

1) Job Development

Must provide sufficient employer relationships and job placement opportunities to ensure CPS experiential unit's capacity meets or exceeds volume of need for eligible learners, term-to-term, YoY. Identify and contact prospective employers for the purpose of understanding their needs and sharing and closing on engagement opportunities for CPS experiential learning (Co-op, internships, XN project-based work, capstones, social impact etc). Strategically build the number of small-to-medium sized organizations and diversify the types of organizations we partner with. Identifies opportunities to increase the visibility of new companies and niche industries to job-seeking students. Establish key partnerships with in-demand, program aligned industry employers to create formal talent pipelines between CPS and workplaces. Identifies and supports the recruitment of employers and corporate representatives for career events and student networking. Build relationships with and collaborate with state and local economic development organizations to cultivate and secure job opportunities

2) Career Programming

Engage employer partners and industry thought leaders in our career focused programming to enhance career skill development. Partnering with the Experiential Learning & Career Advising team to create high impact career programs that address needs with a focus of core industries. Embed employer partnerships inside CPS academic programs working with CPS faculty to create true industry-aligned academic curriculum and formal talent pipelines.
