Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Director of Workforce Development for Information Technology position. The Director of Workforce Development for Information Technology will work to sustain, develop, and grow programming.  These will include non-credit courses, certificates, contract training with industry partners, and apprenticeship models that will allow students to earn and learn as they enter the information technology field.  Guided by labor market intelligence and with the input of industry advisors, the director will work collaboratively with workforce colleagues, and other college administrators and faculty to continue to build industry-relevant learning paths for students and content for industry partners.  They will be responsible for planning, developing, supervising, and evaluating workforce information technology programs.

 

*This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations. Location will mainly be at the Blue Bell campus.

**This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.

***This position requires the new hire to submit the child abuse clearance, the PA State Police check, and FBI fingerprint results to Human Resources prior to their first day of employment.

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education/Training/Work Experience:

  • Master’s Degree with at least two years of work experience and at least one computer industry certification. Knowledge of CISCO Networking Academy required. 3 years or more years of experience in an academic environment in program management. Current technical knowledge in programming, networking, web development, cloud computing, operating systems, databases, cyber security, etc. Experience in teaching IT courses preferred. Experience in curriculum development, educational methodologies and assessment preferred.

 

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrated administrative, problem-solving, team, and organizational skills. Proven skills in handling detailed tasks and multiple assignments. Established interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated record of being able to work well with people in a service organization.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various types of individuals and companies. Valid driver’s license and insured automobile required for travel.
