Job Description

The Career Services Coordinator serves as the Team Lead and manage day-to-day operations in the absence of the Director of Career Services. Working with other faculty, departments, student organizations and employers to participate in special event programming, presentation design, social media postings, student engagement and employment outcomes are core responsibilities of the position. The coordinator cultivates existing employer relationships and creates relationships with new employers to meet employer talent needs.

The coordinator is responsible for providing leadership in managing career services operations data collection and generating reports that support Career Services mission and goals. The coordinator conducts research, generates content (marketing materials, promotional flyers, newsletters, etc.), completes CSN protocols and procedures for hosting events.

The coordinator assists with career services staff technology-related needs ensuring access to all career services related platforms and assisting with hosting virtual events related to career services programming and services. And conducts career and professional development training for career services staff and CSN stakeholders.

The coordinator assists Administrative Assistants with recruitment, screening, hiring and onboarding process for College Work-study students; and manages Career Services department social media accounts in collaboration with Administrative Assistants.

The coordinator is responsible for reporting weekly, monthly and yearly data, and assessment results on behalf of the Director of Career Services and Associate Vice President of ACSA. In addition, the position will be responsible for other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a closely related field.
  • Ability to write and produce written documents and publications.
  • Experience with research and reporting and preparing presentations, special events and workshops.
  • Demonstrated experience working on programs and collaborative projects related to higher education.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suites, such as Outlook, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Forms and Power Automate.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (such as Adobe Suite and Canva) and desktop publishing tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of career services related technology (Handshake), social media, social media content and website design and management.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Human Resources, Computer Science and/or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Microsoft Office Suites Certification.
  • Experience successfully working with a diverse and multicultural workforce/student body.
  • Previous work within higher education, preferably within a Student Affairs department.
  • Experience in data collection and reporting previous experience with Spreadsheets, PeopleSoft, Workday, Watermark Task Stream, Handshake, Canvas, 25Live and Typefocus7 Personality Assessment.
  • Excellent team and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated expertise in Emotional Intelligence concepts.


The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Proficiency in use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and take actions independently for a variety of diverse situations.
  • Show a high degree of creativity and initiative.
  • Leadership abilities.
  • Detailed Oriented and Organized.
  • Able to plan and execute events.
  • Ability to generate reports.
