THE OPPORTUNITY: Reporting to the Director of New Student and Engagement Programs, the Coordinator for Student Activities and Intramurals (Coordinator) will provide direction and support for the student programming board (CAB), Student Homecoming Committee and student events, community engagement, manage the Intramural Program and related facilities, and share responsibility for the design and implementation of campus-wide programs. The Coordinator is an important member of the Student Affairs team and is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner, provide sound leadership, and serve as a role model for Northern State University students. This position requires hours outside of the traditional workday including some weekends. During the busy season, hours may be adjusted from 11am-8pm (negotiable).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Oversee the coordination of intramural and club sports programs, ensuring equitable access, safety, and inclusivity for all participants.
 Develop, implement, and assess campus recreation programs that foster student development in areas such as leadership, wellness, and community engagement, in alignment with the mission and goals of the institution and the Student Affairs Strategic Plan.
 Provide comprehensive advisement and support to the Student Homecoming Committee, fostering collaboration and creativity in event planning and execution.
 Support the Campus Activities Board (CAB), ensuring student-led programming reflects the diverse interests and needs of the student body.
 Cultivate a culture of leadership development by recruiting, training, and mentoring student leaders for intramurals and other campus-wide initiatives.
 Facilitate the contracting process for entertainers and speakers, ensuring the selection of diverse and inclusive programming that enhances the educational and cultural experiences of students.
 Lead the development and execution of strategic marketing plans to promote campus recreation events and programs, utilizing student feedback and assessment data to inform decision-making.
 Assist the Director of New Student and Engagement Programs with ongoing assessment activities, including surveys, focus groups, and evaluations, to measure student satisfaction, program effectiveness, and areas for improvement.
 Serve as a liaison to the Student Organization Recognition Committee (SORC) and provide resources and guidance to student organizations to enhance their impact on campus, including assistance with policy, budget, and adhering to University guidelines.
 Collaborate with campus partners to enhance student engagement opportunities, including coordinating student tailgating for home football games to promote school spirit and community connection.
 Lead and support Student Affairs Strategic Plan (2021-2025) projects and initiatives.
