General Summary
The Talent Coordinator partners with leaders on recruitment strategies and supports the recruitment lifecycle through activities such as sourcing, screening, and assessing possible candidates. Assists with the administration of learning and development programs and talent initiatives. They will promote EMU as an employer of choice and cultivate positive experiences for applicants, candidates, hiring authorities and others involved in the recruitment and selection process as well as employee training initiatives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide recruitment and talent management coordination support.
- Partner with the Manager, Learning and Talent on the creation and execution of recruitment strategies.
- Partner with hiring managers, search committees, and HR Business Partners to continuously improve the applicant experience.
- Coordinate and participate in sourcing, recruitment and other outreach initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, sourcing passive candidates, coordinating/attending career fairs, and forming relationships that solidify EMU as an employer of choice while attracting talent.
- Utilize and maintain the University's online hiring system to screen and manage applicant pools, generate reports and send notifications.
- Work with CHRO and external consultants as needed on data related to the recruitment portions of the annual affirmative action plan.
- Participate in initiatives to broaden outreach in furtherance of the affirmative action plan and to ensure that the University is attracting a diverse array of quality candidates.
- Coordinate, participate in, and present at events, as assigned.
- Assist with the administration of the learning management system (course assignments, reporting, and compliance).
- Provide technical support to employees for the University's applicant tracking, learning management, onboarding and performance management systems.
- Assist with the scheduling and administration of staff training initiatives.
- Participate in other cross-functional Human Resources initiatives e.g. process improvement and employee engagement related projects.
- Answer/resolve complex recruitment related inquiries, providing internal and external customers with complete and accurate information based on University policies and procedures.
- Coordinate recruitment and training budget billing and reconciliations including budget transfers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience advising and partnering directly with hiring managers on Talent Acquisition strategy and proactive recruitment is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in proactive candidate recruitment and sourcing is required.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related behavioral science field, or five years' work experience (with at least 2 of those years being in a role where the primary focus was Talent Acquisition), or the combination of education and work experience that enables the performance of all aspects of the position is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience using an online applicant tracking system (ATS) is required.
- Detailed-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills is required.
- Ability to prioritize and work simultaneously on multiple projects, adhering to budgets and deadlines is required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to interact positively and effectively with a diverse group of applicants, candidates, hiring authorities, and others is required.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience using LinkedIn Recruiter is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working in educational hiring is preferred.
- Familiarity with Employment Law, EEO, and Affirmative Action is preferred.
