The Boston College School of Social Work (BCSSW) intends to appoint a tenured/tenure-track faculty at the rank of Associate or Full Professor beginning September 1, 2025
As one of the nation’s top 10 schools of social work, BCSSW is dedicated to pursuing pioneering research, scholarship, and practice to tackle some of the most complex social problems at home and around the world. BCSSW prepares scholars and social work professionals to create transformative, evidence-based interventions to improve the most vulnerable lives. We are particularly interested in appointing a scholar with a clearly articulated portfolio of research and scholarship in US anti-poverty policies and programs, social welfare and social policy analysis. We are keen to strengthen our curriculum, research, and training in macro social work and social policy areas. We hope to attract faculty who are expert in impact assessment, cost-benefit analysis, and equity analysis to assess the effectiveness of various social policies in achieving their stated objectives. We welcome faculty from multiple policy areas with a focus on poverty, inequality, access to social services, education disparities, and environmental concerns. Ideal candidates, depending on rank, will have interdisciplinary training in social work and social policy with experience in policy analysis and evaluation.
