Job Duties
This is a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in STEM Education hiring at the assistant, associate, or full professor level.
The incumbent will be expected to teach STEM education-related courses, conduct STEM education-related research, guide doctoral students in conceptualizing, implementing, and writing research for dissertations, and perform other administrative functions.
Requested Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a terminal degree (i.e., Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in a STEM Education or closely related field.
Other Preferences for Consideration
The candidate should possess:
a) A strong commitment to social justice;
b) Experience working with an ethnically and culturally diverse student population; and
c) The ability to contribute to the strategic priorities of the School of Education & Urban Studies and the mission of the Graduate Programs in Mathematics & Science Education.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
The successful candidate for Associate Professor or higher should have an established research agenda in STEM education, evidenced by scholarly publications, successful grant writing, and interest in transdisciplinary collaborations.
Candidates of all ranks should be familiar with urban public schooling in the United States, specifically K-12 teaching certification and the Next Generation Science Standards.
