Position Summary

The Department of Public Administration and Policy in the University of Georgia’s School of Public & International Affairs invites nominations for and applications from scholars specializing in governance and policy implications of decarbonization and the transition to net zero energy systems in the transport sector (i.e., road, rail, maritime, air, intermodal, pipeline, space). The department seeks scholars who are dedicated to research, teaching, and student mentorship and will contribute to the current strengths of our MPA and Ph.D. programs.

Special Instructions to Applicants

Candidates should describe their preparation to contribute to the undergraduate minor in public policy and management as well as the MPA core curriculum and elective specializations.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in public administration or public policy or a related field by August 2025.

Additional Requirements

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

Preference will be given to applications from individuals qualified for appointment at the assistant professor rank with research and teaching interests in areas such as innovation and technology policy as it relates to climate and fossil fuel phase-down; public finance, policy, and regulatory dimensions of electric mobility; health and environmental implications of decarbonization; public management of the transition to net-zero energy systems. Candidates with interest in advancing externally-sponsored work (collaboratively or individually) to support research in these areas are especially encouraged to apply.
