Job Summary:
Performs general clerical support duties.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better, and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
- Must be people oriented, quick learner and detail oriented.
- Should be able to carry out written/verbal instructions, multi-task effectively, communicate well and focus among distractions.
- Willing to learn new things and comfortable communicating with students.
- Must be able to communicate with faculty, staff and students, work well independently and with others.
- Ability to interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must be able to operate a computer and/or other office equipment. May occasional lift light to medium weight items, with or without assistance.
Work is performed indoors with no exposure to safety and health hazards. Considerable time may be spent working at a computer. Environment may be loud and hectic at times.
Essential Duties:
General receptionist/clerical duties including but not limited to:
- Telephone-direct calls and taking messages
- Information resources and referral for staff, students and community members.
- Some computer word processing, typing and filing.
- May be asked to work remotely if college is limiting person contact.
- In those situations would be doing student outreach, assisting with social media and data entry.
- Tools of the job may include Multi-line phone, computer, copy machine, poster maker.
