Job Details
Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) at Rowan University invites applications for temporary non-tenure-track, ¾-time teaching positions for the 2024-25 academic year (September 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025). The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching innovative and project-based courses in the electrical and computer engineering curriculum. Applicants with expertise in all fundamental areas of electrical and computer engineering are invited to apply; however, our priority areas – starting with the greatest need are:
The Department greatly values experiential and project-based learning, integrating emerging topics and technologies into the curriculum, and provides an outstanding, state-of-the-art array of equipment , instruments, rapid prototyping, fabrication, and computational resources to support such activities. Our dedication to project-based learning is reflected in our curriculum, as all our courses have lab/project components. A ¾-time appointment carries ¾ of the 12-credit/semester full-time teaching load, i.e., 9 credits / semester (or 18 credits in one academic year), and pays ¾ of the applicable salary of a full-time instructor, with no other benefits.
Applicants must have earned at least a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong communication skills, the ability to work with multi-disciplinary student and faculty teams, and the ability to teach in a project-based setting are essential. The appointment is initially for one academic year, possibly renewable based on performance and departmental needs.
