Assistant Director, Programming & Internal Relations - 68000BR
Yale University, conveniently located between Boston and New York, offers exciting opportunities for achievement and growth in New Haven, Connecticut. Located in the heart of historic downtown New Haven with more than 100 local boutiques, national retailers, cafés, casual eateries, award-winning restaurants, and world-renowned theaters, galleries, and museums.
General Purpose: Reporting to the Director of the Office of Career Strategy, the Assistant Director works closely with the OCS Leadership Team to provide administrative leadership across the office to effectively deliver OCS services and programs. With minimal supervision, the Manager collaborates with team members to plan and implement OCS events, hire and manage student workers, creates and leads the annual Office marketing and communication, oversees staff meetings and the production of annual reports, and manages resources and vendor contracts.
Additionally, the Manager of Operations executes general OCS-wide office responsibilities including assisting with budget management and onboarding. This position will also liaise heavily with departments across the Center for International & Professional Experience, Yale College, the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, and other University Centers.
Required Education and Experience: Minimum requirement of bachelor's degree in related field and five years of related administrative, event/program management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook,
Word, Advanced Excel, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated proficiency with
Qualtrics and Google tools. Demonstrated proficiency with Yale's
fiscal and information management systems, including Symplicity and
Banner preferred.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva. Previous
experience with social media marketing preferred. Previous
experience in higher education organization preferred.
- Excellent administrative, project management, event planning,
and organizational skills. Exceptional communication and
interpersonal skills.
- High degree of flexibility, including the ability to deal with
frequent interruptions and to work occasional nights and weekends
as needed. Ability to work both independently and as a team
member.
- High degree of integrity, professionalism, discretion, and
tact. Demonstrated cultural competence and proven effectiveness in
serving the needs of a diverse community.
