Job Summary:
Teach core psychology classes.
Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Masters degree in Psychology, or 27 graduate quarter hours in Psychology.
- Teaching experience.
- The ability to communicate effectively as a teacher and to operate as an effective member of a team.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.
Essential Duties:
- Teach General Psychology ( PSY 201, 202, 203) and/or Psychology and Human Relations ( PSY 101).
- Act as a team member of the Social Science Department.
- Communicate the objectives of each course taught, grade according to those objectives, and report student progress toward those goals.
- Work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages and successfully interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an education team.
- Establish and maintain opportunities for reasonable out-of-class contact with students.
- Prepare course descriptions, outlines, and other material related to courses taught.
- Establish and maintain a class roll, and teach in conformance with approved course outlines.
- Participate in Student Appraisal of Classroom Learning.

Salary and Compensation Information:
Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being “rolled” once per term.
- You can view the 24/25 AY Part-Time Salary Schedule document at this link. Table 1 illustrates the cost per credit for each step on the pay scale. Table 2 illustrates the compensation per hour for meetings, trainings, advising, curriculum development, or other related work.

As a condition of employment, all new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.
