Responsibilities

The Residence Hall Coordinator (RHC) manages the activities of assigned residence hall(s), ensuring the provision of appropriate authority and leadership that supports students both academically and interpersonally. RHC assists in the training and development of Resident Advisors (RAs). RHCs are designated as Essential Personnel for the purposes of emergency planning and management. The Residence Hall Coordinator reports to the Director of Housing and Residence Life.

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with one to two years of experience working in Housing and Residence Life, Academic Support, Student Life or another unit area in Student Affairs. Possess strong analytical and communication skills, sound professional judgment, initiative and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals including students, faculty and staff. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms . Some knowledge of event planning, organizational management and student development theory is preferred. Must be creative, organized and able to multitask, with strong attention to detail and the management of his/her/the university’s time.
