Job Details

The SMU DEDMAN SCHOOL OF LAW is seeking applications from qualified persons for two non-tenure track, full-time Clinical Professor of Legal Analysis, Writing & Research (LAWR) positions in the LAWR Program to begin Fall 2025. Instructors will teach (1) required first year courses in legal analysis, writing, and research, and (2) required upper-level professional legal writing courses in litigation, transactional, or regulatory areas. The appointment is for one year, and reappointment for subsequent years is possible upon satisfactory performance. Applicants must have a law degree, an excellent academic record, and excellent research, writing, legal analysis, and communication skills.  Previous teaching in legal research and writing courses is preferred, and at least 3 years of legal practice is required.  Hiring is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check.
