Description

Johns Hopkins Carey Business School invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position to support the work of the Gender & Work Initiative that officially launched in December 2024. The Initiative, co-directed by David Smith and Colleen Stuart, aims to produce world-class research focusing on the relational and structural mechanisms underlying gender inequality in organizations and labor markets. We are seeking candidates specializing in the academic areas of organizational theory and behavior, with a particular emphasis on gender and organizations.

  • This is a full-time research position.
  • The position is a two-year appointment with the possibility of extension.

As a part of the Management and Organization area, the successful candidate will interact with a collegial group of faculty members who are actively publishing in top management and disciplinary journals and have varied interests including management and organizational behavior, organization theory, strategy, psychology, and healthcare management.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have:
  • A PhD degree in organizational behavior, organizational theory, strategy, sociology, psychology or a related field conferred by employment start date.
  • Demonstrated a strong commitment to academic research.

This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
