Position Overview

Plans, coordinates, and implements programs and services related to the University’s Office of Equal Opportunity. Responsibilities and areas of focus include operational and administrative support, training, outreach, case management, Title IX investigations, ADA grievances, and similar.

Job Duties

Office and Administrative Support:
  • Provide clerical support to the Office of Equal Opportunity.
  • Assist with policy and procedure updates related to the Office of Equal Opportunity.
  • Assist with the creation of promotional materials, informational flyers, social media posts, and other outward-facing tools for students, faculty, and staff related to the processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the research of grants and other opportunities that promote and add to the overall programmatic functions of the Office of Equal Opportunity.
Investigations & Case Management:
  • Responsible for assisting with, and at times conducting, prompt and thorough investigations for allegations brought against students, faculty, and staff related to sex and gender discrimination including allegations of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking.
  • Assist with the scheduling of in-take meetings, interviews, general meetings, and formal and informal hearings.
  • Update Maxient with case related information.
  • Participate in on-going training required by state and federal law
Training:
  • Identify training, prevention, education, and outreach needs for the campus community based on both current trends and state and federal law requirements.
  • Develop training, prevention, education, and outreach efforts for the campus community.
  • Implement and assess training, prevention, education, and outreach efforts for the campus community.
  • When needed, present on relevant topics to the campus community.
**This position involves close interactions with individuals who have experienced physical and/or emotional trauma.**

Qualifications/Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in job-related field or 4+ years of equivalent work experience in chosen field that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred
  • Investigative experience in such areas as student conduct, education law, equal opportunity/affirmative action, human resources, or other related fields.
  • Professional experience conducting investigations and/or investigation experience in a college setting.
  • Experience working with college students or on a college or university campus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to effectively deal with sensitive and complex issues.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and evidence of success in working with individuals with diverse backgrounds.
  • Interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication to effectively communicate with campus community, including domestic and international students, to support an inclusive campus environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
