The Early Childhood Education Program invites applications for a Clinical Professor position (non-tenure track) beginning in Fall 2024. The Clinical Professor will teach nine (three per academic quarter) undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in child development, child behavior, special education, assessment, plus health, safety, and nutrition. Classes are held on the Lincoln Park campus and online in a hybrid modality. Active participation in College, Department, and Early Childhood Education Program meetings is required, as is holding office hours for students. The Professional Lecturer may be called upon to be part of Programmatic curriculum deliberations and related activities.

QualificationsRequired qualifications include:
- Master's degree
- Doctoral-level coursework in early childhood education, child development, or a related field
- Minimum five years' (total) experience in teaching undergraduate- and master's degree-level early childhood education majors
- Demonstrated strong teaching record
- Experience in developing course syllabi, course materials for student use
- Experience in developing and teaching online hybrid-delivery courses to undergraduate- and master's degree-level early childhood education majors\
- Working knowledge and experience in designing course assignments and assessments aligned with the Illinois State Board of Education early childhood teacher licensing standards as well as the Illinois Gateways ECE Level V Credential competencies
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in developing integrated child curricula and project-based instruction
- Experience in creating and providing teacher professional development in young children's mental health wellness, with emphasis on trauma-informed pedagogy
- Experience in conducting research in the early care and education field
