The School of Nursing in the College of Science and Health at DePaul University seeks to fill a full-time non-tenure-track, term faculty position for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. This is a 10-month position at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor. The successful candidate will primarily instruct in the DNP curriculum, significantly contributing to the advancement of nursing education, research and practice while aligning with DePaul’s mission rooted in Catholic and Vincentian higher education.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Role Modeling: Uphold the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to all constituencies, and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Vincentian higher education.
  2. Instruction: Deliver didactic and clinical training to nursing students, primarily in the DNP and MSN-specialty programs. Adjusting teachings based on experience and qualifications.
  3. Curriculum Development: Engage in course creation, revision, and submission of syllabi in the required format, ensuring an assessment of student outcomes and development of instructional resources.
  4. Leadership: Serve as the lead faculty for primary courses and mentor to adjunct faculty members.
  5. Advising: Offer academic and career counsel to graduate nursing students.
  6. Service: Actively participate in committee work, both within the School of Nursing and across the wider university community.

DePaul's School of Nursing offers BSN, Master’s Entry into Nursing Practice, RN to MSN-specialty, Post-Master Certificate and DNP programs. Nursing Programs emphasize community engagement, service learning in vulnerable communities, social justice and excellent safe quality nursing care. Students are in clinical sites at over 100 health care institutions.

Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience as an AGNP or FNP Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)
  • Active AGNP or FNP licensure in Illinois or eligibility, with application in process
  • Prior experience teaching NP students is an asset
  • Proficiency in online teaching methods desired
