Description
The Clemson Composites Center (CCC) at Clemson University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our dynamic team. This Postdoctoral Fellowship offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to two cutting-edge multi-institutional research projects focusing at:
- AI-driven Quality Prediction for Spot Welds
- Modernizing Manufacturing Systems to Enable Industry 4.0.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Conduct high-level research in both projects and collaborate with the projects' teams
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Contribute to the mentorship and supervision of graduate students within the research group.
- Support the team in the preparation of proposals for the follow-on funding.
About Clemson Composites Center (CCC) and Clemson University's International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR): The CCC is a state-of-the-art research facility comprising some of the most advanced material characterization and processing equipment available in an academic setting. The CCC is dedicated to working with industry to develop, transform and commercialize cost-effective, efficient and sustainable technologies for lightweight composites. CCC is part of Clemson University's International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR), which is a 250-acre research campus in Greenville, South Carolina. It's a magnet for industry gatherings in the Southeast, and is home to 17 resident partners, multiple research laboratories, and Clemson University's automotive engineering program. The campus also hosts regional and global conferences and events. CU-ICAR is a unique research park that's not just a location, but also has active academic programs where companies can interact.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in machine learning, data analytics, and digitalization technologies.
- Excellent programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experiene in smart manufacturing research
- Experience in manufacturing field, particularly in the automotive or plastic/composites industry.
