The W. P. Carey Technology Strategy and Operations (TSO) team is crucial in proactively furthering ASU's academic, research, and community missions. The team is a collective of Business Analysts, System Support Analysts, and System Analysts. The W. P. Carey, Technology Strategy and Operations (TSO) team’s purpose is to assist the W. P. Carey school with technology needs. It is done in partnership with faculty, researchers, and staff including ASU Enterprise Technology. We build trustworthy partnerships, innovate and create sustainable technology solutions, and expand technical proficiency throughout the school as W. P. Carey and its partners.
We are hiring a Business Analyst to support ongoing projects. The Business Analyst seeks to understand requirements, recommend solutions, and facilitate and manage technology projects throughout the W. P. Carey School. The successful candidate is comfortable in a high-touch academic environment working directly with faculty, students, and staff to understand the complement of business need to a technical solution. They demonstrate deep analytical capabilities and a refined ability to articulate complex analyses to varied audiences. The successful candidate will have shown discipline in documenting project work and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Essential Duties
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with key stakeholders to gather requirements, understand project scope, and assist in defining budget and strategic outcomes. Ensure clear communication and alignment of project goals.
- Decision Facilitation: Assist in facilitating decision-making processes by gathering relevant information, organizing meetings, and helping resolve project issues and conflicts.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, proactively share knowledge, support team initiatives, and provide assistance to ensure project success.
- Portfolio Oversight: Help manage the scope, objectives, and multiple project timelines. Support resource allocation and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Strategic Communication: Assist in developing and delivering strategic communication plans to convey project updates and goals to various audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Support the development and implementation of quality assurance practices, conduct tests, and participate in assessments to ensure project deliverables meet required standards.
- Requirement Elicitation: Assist in gathering, analyzing, and documenting project requirements through interviews, workshops, and surveys. Ensure all requirements are clear and aligned with project goals.
- Process Analysis: Help identify process inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and participate in efforts to optimize workflows and enhance business processes.
- Methodology Support: Aid in the adoption and implementation of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Provide support and training to team members as needed.
- Information Needs Analysis: Collaborate with internal and external customers to understand functional requirements, document specifications, and ensure critical needs are addressed.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and maintain detailed project status reports, track milestones, and analyze project progress. Identify critical paths and dependencies to ensure timely project completion.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years of experience in procedural, management or systems analysis work; OR, Six (6) years of experience in procedural, management, or systems analysis work; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/ or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

- Demonstrated knowledge of tools used for reporting such as Tableau, Alteryx, Dash, and PowerBI

- Demonstrated knowledge of web development concepts and platforms such as Drupal
- Experience in Business Process Mapping Techniques and software used to document
- Experience working with SAAS (Software as a Service) products for monthly updates and managing a vendor relationship
- Experience in all Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Evidence of planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Demonstrated track record of leading complex successful projects from initiation to completion
- Experience in analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Experience developing strategies and business requirement specifications for projects, ability to manage complex technology projects
- Experience in clarifying roles and responsibilities to ensure understanding of expectations with all project team members
- Demonstrated knowledge of organizational development and practices to identify opportunities for change and convey the need for change
- Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in the use of standard project management and change management practices
Working Environment
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
