Job Summary:

Teach basic manual machine tool classes at levels 1-5 and other courses as assigned or qualified in the areas of CAD / CAM, MasterCAM and Solidworks. Substitution in classes as needed, Teach part-time classes and/or sections, curriculum development, project grading, test making, and demonstrations on machine tools. Participate in departmental meetings for instructional design.

Required Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience:

• Associate’s degree in Machine Tool or Manufacturing, and equivalent to five years full-time industrial experience including manual machining, CNC, and CAM .

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to lecture and use instructional tools to deliver instruction, i.e. PowerPoint, DVD’s.
• Ability to design instruction and do curriculum mapping. Ability to work as a team member.

• Requires the ability to work with staff and students.
• Work is performed in a classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.
• Ability to stand, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Essential Duties:

1. Teach first and second-year courses in Machine Tool or Manufacturing Technology.
2. Promotes excellence in instruction.
3. Identifies and meets the learning needs of the students.
4. Develops course schedules and syllabi.
5. Plans, develops, and delivers classroom lectures and activities as well as writes tests and develops other methods to evaluate student progress and competence.
6. Works effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages and successfully interacts with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an education team.
7. Communicates effectively in oral and written English.
8. Keeps accurate grade and attendance records.

Salary and Compensation Information:
Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being “rolled” once per term.

As a condition of employment, all new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.
