Compensation: $18.50
Job Summary
The Specialist will provide service delivery work to the Mid-Ohio Market through the U.S. Department of Education Basic Needs for Postsecondary Program grant. This position will assist with disbursing nonperishable food items, curating and distributing healthy meal boxes, and facilitating education presentations and resources to in-need students. This is a part-time position.
Student Success and Community Building
- Develops and implements awareness initiatives in collaboration with Columbus State Marketing and Communications to increase student awareness of basic needs services. Implements awareness initiative and launch material distribution.
- Distributes healthy meal boxes to in-need students. Assists in hosting student educational events such as information sessions and crockpot giveaways.
- Delivers Mid-Ohio Market services such as checking students in and assisting them in food pickup. Maintains a positive customer service atmosphere. Utilize critical thinking, problem-solving, and experience with student and customer issues.
- Assists in proactively addressing potential concerns, identifying potential barriers, and making appropriate referrals within Student Advocacy and other campus and community resources. Assists customers by answering questions about the Market.
- Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma with at least one (1) year of experience in a customer service position and general computer skills.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
- An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate.
