Position Description

Manage the daily operations of the Bursar’s Office. Proactively oversee and manage Student Accounts Receivable including student billing and collections for multiple locations across multiple states. Work closely with the Financial Aid Department and third-party student receivables management company to ensure the accuracy of student accounts. This is an in-person office position for our headquarters in New Hope, PA. Must live within a commutable distance to the office.

Principal Duties:

• Maintain the financial records of all student receivables via student management system.
• Oversee the monthly billing and collection of student receivables.
• Contact past due accounts to arrange payments plans to reduce receivables, increase cash flow, and lower bad debt.
• Prepare monthly reports for receivables aging, accounts for collections, and write-offs.
• Develop and provide oversight of collections procedures as necessary for past due and default accounts.
• Serve as primary liaison between AHED Corp and third-party service providers.
• Keep current with federal and state collection regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of student accounting experience and a strong background in accounts receivable principles, methodology, and practice.
• Knowledge of fund accounting, financial aid, and student loan terminology.
• Self-starter with the ability to both work independently and collaborate as part of the campus education team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with people of varied social, educational, and economic backgrounds.
• Ability to work confidently, independently, make decisions, and use good judgment.
• Computer skills including familiarity with financial aid/student information systems, and Department of Education software
• Experience working in post-secondary education or similar environment.
