Summary of Job Duties:This is a non-tenure track instructor position. The incumbent will teach four courses per year in supply chain management. The incumbent will additionally be expected to support the needs of students, faculty, and external partners in addressing the challenges faced by individuals from historically underrepresented backgrounds, in alignment with the Chancellor’s Guiding Priorities. For example, the department of supply chain management has seen an increase in Hispanic / Latinx student enrollment each year since 2012 and expects that number to grow at a higher rate in the coming years. In addition to teaching, this position will educate and promote the value of an inclusive workplace in supply chain management by:
- convening local, regional, and national supply chain management thought leaders, students, faculty, and experts in industry and academia
- creating a student organization for Hispanic / Latinx students in supply chain management
engaging and conducting outreach with students from historically underrepresented backgrounds
- collaborating with diverse industry professionals to facilitate, for example, practice-based teaching, speaking engagements, mentorship, and/or serving on guest panels
- working closely with the Executive Director of Women Impacting Supply Excellence and the Sam M. Walton College of Business Office for Diversity and Inclusion
- developing innovative approaches to launching initiatives that create and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or higher in a relevant field by the time the candidate begins the position

  • At least three or more years of industry work experience in supply chain management

  • Demonstrated ability to become classified as Instructional Practitioner by AACSB standards

  • Demonstrated commitment to the areas of diversity, inclusion, and equity



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated record of high-quality teaching, training, and/or instruction

  • Demonstrated experience implementing initiatives in diverse communities

  • Related experience in overcoming the disadvantages or circumstances of historically underrepresented student populations

  • Demonstrated strong operational, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
