Job Summary/Basic Functions

A Training Resource Center (TRC) Programmer Analyst develops software, designs websites (front-end/back-end), provides systems information, provides data information, and provides system problemresolutions to system users through their knowledge of application development, system data, anddevelopment of best practices through research. This is done to serve the TRC's information needs, TRCcustomer requirements and assist in easy facilitation of productive business practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: One year of experience in a programming related field also required.

Job Duties:
  • 50% - Provide Training Resource Center Information and Data; utilizing computer programming experience and skills
  • Identify user needs
  • Communicate with users
  • Determine delivery mechanism and audience
  • Determine tools to be used
  • Develop and modify code or report and write specification for programs to meet user needs
  • Validate code and results
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of code and procedures for future use
  • Deliver results to user user
  • Maintain programs and code - (Essential)
  • 20% - Ensure Data Integrity and Security;
  • Validate and monitor data entry functions to identity duplicates and to ensure that data is inline with current university policies and standards.
  • Educate users on data entry standards.
  • Resolve issues and develop a plan
  • Facilitate plan and provide for corrective action
  • Validate that external data is consistent with data standards. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Provide users support to university community;
  • Identify user issues
  • Determine request feasibility
  • Research possible solutions
  • Develop a plan with user to ensure compliance
  • Gather needed resources
  • Test and evaluate the solution
  • Implement plan and evaluate to ensure the results meet users original request
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of the process for future use
  • Train and educate users on the new process/system
  • Provide maintenance on the new process/resolution - (Essential)
  • 10% - Provide maintenance to TRC systems;
  • Research any and all potential problems
  • Evaluate policy changes and upgrades to ensure they are within TRC and sponsor's policy and standards
  • Develop strategies for policy changes and upgrades
  • Test strategy or solutions
  • Implement solutions and/or strategies
  • Train and educate users on any policy changes
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of process
  • Review and assess on a continual basis - (Essential)
  • 10% - Implement new TRC systems;
  • Research new systems to provide input into implementation process and best practices
  • Develop implementation (project) plan and timeline.
  • Compile and gather all necessary resources for project/plan
  • Learn features and functionality of new system to ensure proper implementation and training to users
  • Facilitate the conversion old data
  • Train and educate users
  • Determine/develop any custom programming needs
  • Test functionality and accuracy of system and make recommendations where warranted
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of system implementation and process. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Other Duties As Assigned;

Special Instructions: Join our team! www.trc.eku.edu. The Training Resource Center (TRC) provides training and support for Kentucky's Department for Community Based Services. The funding for this position is from federal and/or state funds and is subject to annual renewal. This is a contract EKU position. The position may be considered for full time remote or hybrid work arrangements.
