Position Summary
The Department of Religious Studies at Trinity College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Religious Studies who specializes in Judaism starting in July 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses broadly across the Jewish tradition from the classical to contemporary periods. We are specifically seeking candidates who specialize in Judaism in the Americas and are grounded in both theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of religion, as well as the relevant primary languages. Preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to the department’s interdisciplinary offerings in areas such as mysticism, textual studies, feminist and gender theory, race and politics.

Qualifications
Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Religious Studies or related fields by the time of appointment, along with a record of outstanding scholarship and effective teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses/year for the first two years and 5 courses/year thereafter, in addition to active department and college service.
