Summary of Job Duties:The Videographer/Editor is responsible for recording and editing video programs for the cable and internet channels. This employee is responsible for scheduling and maintaining the programming server. The employee also works with and supervises student workers. This position reports to the Director of University Television. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a media-related field;
  • A minimum of one (1) year's experience in professional video production;
  • A valid driver's license and proof of insurance.


Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Adobe software experience including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition;
  • Ability to produce short video news stories;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Experience with professional digital cameras lighting and sound equipment;
  • Experience in designing graphics and animations (Photoshop, After Effects);
  • Multi-camera production experience.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a professional camera to record a variety of programs including short news stories, concerts, speakers, and events on the UA Little Rock campus and Little Rock area;
  • Edit professional quality long and short for video programs utilizing graphics, audio, and music using non-linear editing software;
  • Utilize compression software to transfer edited programs into the channel automation system;
  • Program the automation server system each week;
  • Work with students in recording and editing programming for University Television;
  • Create University Television IDs, graphics, animated opens and slides;
  • Assist with television studio productions;
  • Drive to various venues in the Little Rock area to record speakers and events;
  • Must be able to work evenings and occasional weekends during the academic year;
  • Other duties as required or assigned by the Director of University Television.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of video, audio, and studio production;
  • Ability to program and operate cable channel automation system and servers;
  • Ability to produce original programming for broadcast including producing, interviewing, recording and editing;
  • Ability to work independently as well as with other members of the campus community and students within an academic environment;
  • Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems and desktop software;
  • Professionally represent UA Little Rock, the School of Mass Communication; and University Television when interacting with the community and colleagues;
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
  • Possess a good work ethic with attention to detail.


Salary Information:

$32,000-$37,197
