Join LVC’s incredible Academic Affairs Leadership Team, as the assistant dean of academic advising. Grounded in best practice and research, the assistant dean of academic advising is responsible for the College’s academic advising program.  The assistant dean provides support and direction to faculty advisors and fosters a community of collaboration that focuses on student success, satisfaction, retention and college completion.  The assistant dean oversees a coordinated approach to academic advising and, in conjunction with faculty and staff, ensures that all students receive an appropriate and consistent level of support.  The assistant dean also works with students in the exploratory studies program as well as students in transition from one major to another.  Qualifications include a knowledge of college administration, student development, and academic advising equivalent to completion of a master’s degree and three to five years of related student development and academic experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive experience in academic advising grounded in best practice and research is required as well as demonstrated experience in providing support and direction to faculty advisors while fostering a community of collaboration that focuses on student success, satisfaction, retention and college completion.  Experience working with students in the exploratory studies program as well as students in transition from one major to another is preferred. This is a 12-month administrative position.
