Position Overview
Coordinate a specific program or activity related to recreation, health, or fitness. Oversee and monitors activities. Ensure information is provided on proper procedures, techniques, and principles on safety, risk management and liability, sport specific rules, and university policy. May facilitate the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of student staff, which may include sports supervisors, sports officials, and athletic trainers. May assist in ensuring facilities, equipment, and materials for recreational programs, club sports, and/or intramural sports are acquired, maintained and in good working order. May provide individual or group instruction.
This position requires the successful candidate to maintain a smart phone on which to receive telephone calls, email, and SMS messages from intramural participants and Wellness and Sport personnel. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Job Duties
- Responsible for daily operations of Intramural/Informal Recreation and assist with the Adaptive program. Management of the Climbing Wall and Inclusive Sports for UCO students. Assists with the operations of the Sports Club program. Serves as liaison with campus organizations to promote intramural/informal recreation opportunities.
- Coordinates facility scheduling, including, but not limited to Wellness Center gym floor, and intramural fields. Must collaborate with the campus athletic department for use for potential use of additional fields.
- Continually assesses and revises program structure according to current needs.
- Tracks and maintains statistical report on intramural participation, travel, injuries, equipment, and other pertinent information on a semester and annual basis.
- Responsible for the recruitment, training, and development of court supervisors, officials and volunteers.
- Manages all Paycom pay procedures for intramural/informal recreation employees.
- Responsible for program equipment management and maintenance.
- Responsible for following all policies and procedures of possessing a university pcard.
- Provides financial account monitoring of intramural/informal recreation budgets.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in job related field or 4+ years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to operate a typical motor vehicle.
Qualification/Experience Preferred
Previous experience working in a sport or recreation environment. Knowledge of IM Leagues computer programs and or other recreational computer software is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must demonstrate analytical, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adjust to customers changing needs. Ability to multi-task, organizes, take direction, and implement several projects simultaneously. Must have the ability to speak with many diverse cultures and organizations. Working knowledge of accounting and budgeting skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
