Job Description
The Opportunity
The Aeronautical Science Department in the College of Aviation (COA) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University—Daytona Beach invites applications for a non-tenure-track 9-month appointment at the rank of Instructor. The qualified candidate will teach courses held in the Department of Aeronautical Science specifically associated with the uncrewed aircraft systems undergraduate degree program.
The Aeronautical Science (AS) Department hosts the largest degree program for professional pilots in the world and is one of the largest departments on the Daytona Beach Campus. It houses three undergraduate degree programs focusing on professional aviation, which include the Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science, Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and Bachelor of Science in Uncrewed Aircraft Systems. All programs in the AS department are accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI).
Excellence in teaching is our top priority. Other priorities include service to the university and a strong commitment to student mentorship.
The qualified candidate will have a broad base of knowledge and experience in UAS flight operations as well as knowledge of software and hardware applications used to support UAS data acquisition and post processing. The candidate will possess a valid Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and a strong interest in advancing aviation education.
The faculty appointment will begin in August 2024.

- Applicant must have a Valid Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification
- A Masters degree is preferred but applicants with a Bachelors degree in discipline and two years of relevant experience will be considered.
