The Adjunct (Faculty) – Emerging Media position assists the Workforce Development department by providing subject matter expertise in delivering the Emerging Media / Digital Media / Video Production College Credit Certificate, future Emerging Media degree programs, and related credit courses.
Examples of courses to be taught include, but are not limited to:
- TPA 1380 Survey of Entertainment Technology
- DIG 2000C Introduction to Digital Media and Design
- DIG 2030C Digital Video and Sound
- DIG 2109C Digital Imaging Fundamentals
- DIG 2430C Digital Storytelling
- Plans and carries out instructional duties, which maximize learning by students.
- Supervises students in accordance with program procedures, academic, and course related concerns.
- Teaches assigned courses in accordance with department expectations.
- Assists with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
- Publishes complete syllabus to students by the first day classes begin.
- Attends all scheduled or called meetings by the President, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, or LSSC supervisor, unless excused by the administrator in charge.
- Teaches all classes for the full period as scheduled.
- Evaluates student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on course syllabus.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
- Submit grade reports and other required data on or before deadline dates.
- Resolve discipline problems within sphere of responsibility.
- Assist and counsel students as needed.
- Utilize material and technology necessary to accomplish designated tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional methods.
- Regularly examine content of assigned courses and recommend changes to LSSC supervisor if needed.
- Complies with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
- Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meeting, phone, mail, and email requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all workplace safety rules, safety laws, regulations, standards and practices
- Ability to work various hours including nights, early morning and weekends
- Ability to travel amongst various campuses and attend College events, or off campus, as required.
- Transfer Credit Courses: Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline (Alternative credentialing based on experience and/or industry certifications is possible).
- Developmental Education Credit Courses: Bachelor’s degree in teaching discipline or related area.
