The Executive Director of Human Resources is responsible for developing policies and procedures that adequately address the needs of the College and its employees, while helping to maintain a positive working environment that both attracts and retains effective performers.
Beacon College, in Leesburg, Florida, invites nominations and applications for the position of Executive Director of Human Resources. The College seeks a visionary, strategic, and experienced human resource leader to join a unique liberal arts and sciences institution committed to the belief that given the right environment, support, and tools, all students can succeed. This key leadership position functions as the chief human resources representative of the College and is a member of the President’s Senior Staff. The Executive Director is responsible for developing policies and procedures that adequately address the needs of the College and its employees, while helping to maintain a positive working environment that both attracts and retains effective performers. The Executive Director reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
In its search for a new Executive Director of Human Resources, the Beacon community is intent upon attracting an experienced HR professional who is accountable for the direct administration of human resource services for the College and will play a critical role in the continued development of the HR operations.
The Position
The Executive Director of Human Resources will assume leadership at a time of institutional growth and financial stability. Beacon College seeks a dynamic Executive Director to provide guidance regarding workforce trends, potential risks, and the human resource implications of strategic decisions. The Director serves as the senior leader responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing employee-focused initiatives and projects that support the college’s culture of care, institutional effectiveness, and transformative change. The Executive Director is responsible for developing and articulating a clear vision for talent management that supports the college’s academic and administrative objectives.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications include:
- A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a business discipline and a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in human resources and risk management.
- Thorough knowledge of Federal and State safety and health laws/standards, employment law, and other Federal and State laws related to human resources and risk management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of Beacon College employees, prospective employees, and other individuals both inside and outside of the College.
- The ability to responsibly handle a variety of confidential information is critical.
Preferred qualifications include: Experience on a college or university campus, particularly with knowledge of Title IX administration requirements.
Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000
